    That amp has one hell of a master volume to sound that good at that low of volume. Would love to hear it with a good 80’s crunch dialed in, with the mids pushed back up. Regardless, that is a killer amp. Congrats!

    Absolute amp and guitar skills ! But keep in mind that Master Volume must be at 12 o'clock to have a massive and fullness valve tone.Yeah , when you're at home and you turn the sound down it sounds super cool but on the gig when you crank the power high and low frequencies will pop up on the horizon . I recommend to starting making your tone by placing EVERYTHING at 12 o'clock .If you like a modern sound, take out a bit of Mids around 10 for example.The Big Game is between Gain and Master Controls ! What i found for myself when you boost MASTER turn down a little Gain ! Example : Gain - 13 o'clock Master -11 ! Gain -11 Master 13 o'clock ! This way you will see how your sound changes in frequency without having to touchEQ !!! And lastly... finding a holy sweet spot on gain control when playing riffs ( a bit less gain ! ) and soloing ... thank you for this video Bradley !

    Good tone. There is an opinion that ENGLs are wrong with compression. What can you say about on this amp?

    • @braddtatum
      @braddtatum 6 місяців тому

      Thanks! Well when I first got the ENGL I had only been experienced with playing out of a Marshall and I was surprised at how different the ENGL felt. The compression is definitely evident and feels different, but I think it is really nice sounding and satisfying to play. So, I totally understand where people are coming from. It’s a different feel and flavor but I love it!

    • @marinkovic87
      @marinkovic87 6 місяців тому

      When you turn up Engl....there is no issue with compression. It just rips, very well balanced sound. They shine the best when you crank them up. You have presence and depth to push further the sound. Same with Diezel amps, which are very rounded sounding. You just need to push them.

    • @kosmajahn2877
      @kosmajahn2877 4 місяці тому

      If you don’t want that compression, for more open sound go for Engl Artist Edition. It totally rips!

      Yes, it’s at bedroom level in this video for sure. The sound quality stays really nice even at low volumes and doesn’t do fast jumps from quiet to loud as you increase the volume either, very steady incline as you go up or down. It can go to outrageously loud too of course!

      Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, I sent it in for diagnosis/repair in February and got it back earlier this month. It was something the ENGL repair tech in Southern California had never seen before in this amp I guess and it just took a long time for the correct diagnosis to happen. Eventually ENGL contacted him from Germany and they worked out what it was together and once it was figured out, it was fixed. I think in the end it turned out to be a Jfet that had probably been toasted from a voltage spike. The tech explained it to me but a lot of what he told me went right over my head. The amp was making all kinds of crazy tea kettle whistling sounds before I finally sent it in. I have a video of the amp doing that somewhere on my channel.

    Awesome video! Have you tried dehydrating the turkey tails in the oven and grinding them into powder? They grow everywhere here in Florida, but they spray pesticide in so many areas that I'm too afraid to collect any. I would love to see more of the nature in the woods, next time you go. Please and thank you 😊💚

    • @braddtatum
      @braddtatum 8 місяців тому

      Thanks! I haven’t dried and powdered them before. I have considered it but I have heard some arguments that claim that you have to extract the goods out of Turkey tail via hot water. I don’t know if that is nonsense or not but there is a debate around that. As far as pesticides are concerned, yeah that’s a concern. I am getting these out of the woods in protected parks where there would be no reason to have pesticides. It is also something to keep in mind that mushrooms soak up a lot of other environmental pollutants so it’s ideal not to pick them from road sides or places where there would be nasty chemicals around. Double edge sword there. Because mushrooms help clean up nasty agents from the area by soaking them up and breaking them down into less vile substances, but that also means that if you eat that mushroom, you get the contents it had soaked up too!

      It’s quite common in the rural areas and outskirts of the Island for sure. I wouldn’t see them as much when I grew up in the central part of the Island and I imagine they are hanging around the very developed parts much less than the rural/country areas.
